We are committed to working with other scrutiny bodies to ensure we have a co-ordinated approach to regulation, characterised by co-operation, collaboration and information sharing. We aim to ensure that there is no potential for regulatory gaps or duplication. We meet regularly with partner scrutiny bodies to discuss operational and strategic issues of mutual interest.
We are developing Memoranda of Understanding with relevant scrutiny bodies that set out the powers and responsibilities of each organisation and establish a framework for joint working, co-operation and collaboration.
For our scrutiny of local authorities, we will be a signatory to the Local Government Scrutiny Joint Code of Practice (JCOP). This will govern how we undertake our scrutiny of local authorities’ landlord and homelessness functions. You can read the draft JCOP on Audit Scotland's website.
