Regulator calls on Council to improve services to homeless people

22 July 2015

Following the resolution of the industrial action by homelessness caseworkers at Glasgow City Council, the Scottish Housing Regulator has called on the Council to prioritise improvements to its services to homeless people.

Christine MacLeod, Director of Regulation said, “We have had regular contact throughout the industrial action with the Council and other homelessness agencies in the city to monitor the situation, particularly the impact on homeless people.  Now that the industrial action is resolved, the Council must act quickly to review its plan to improve services for homeless people in the city and give appropriate priority to the improvements that are needed.  We will look to the Council to assure us that it is doing this.”
