SPIRE VIEW HOUSING ASSOCIATION INSPECTION REPORT
Spire View Housing Association was inspected by The Scottish Housing Regulator. The purpose of the inspection was to provide an independent external assessment on the effectiveness of its housing services.
Spire View owns and manages over 500 properties in Royston, North Glasgow. The Association was formed in 2002 following the merger of 2 registered social landlords. This was the Association’s first inspection since the merger.
Following our inspection, The Regulator awarded the Association a ‘good’ rating for its overall performance.
Michael Cameron, The Scottish Housing Regulator’s Head of Inspection said:
“Our inspectors found that the Association has performed well and is providing good housing services for the people in Royston, Glasgow. It has many strengths and understands where it needs to make improvements. It has demonstrated that it provides, and will continue to provide, good quality homes. The Association is also achieving good value for tenants’ rents.”
The Director of Spire View, Fiona Watson, said:
“The staff and Committee at Spire View are delighted with the outcome of the inspection process. We believe the ‘B’ grade awarded recognises the high quality services being provided by our Association, our commitment to continuous improvement and our efforts to ensure tenants are involved wherever possible”.

5. The Scottish Housing Regulator came into operation on 1 April 2008. It is the successor to Communities Scotland’s Regulation & Inspection Division. As a government agency the Scottish Housing Regulator has complete operational independence, but remains accountable to Scottish Ministers, and through them to the Scottish Parliament for the standard of its work. The agency sits within the Justice and Communities Directorate of the Scottish Government and works within the government’s overall purpose and contribute to its strategic objectives.
