How to use Assessing Performance
The nationally agreed Performance Standards are at the heart of our approach to regulation. The 20 Guiding Standards act as underpinning principles for the way landlords operate, and the 33 Activity Standards set out performance expectations for the major services that landlords provide.
Assessing Performance provides social landlords with a range of material to aid continuous improvement. Each Performance Standard has three types of information attached to it. The information is explained below, and can be accessed by choosing a Performance Standard or by choosing one of twelve broad Subject Areas.
Self Assessment
This provides a set of self assessment questions for each Performance Standard. The questions represent a tool that social landlords can use within with their own performance management and quality assurance systems.
Useful References & Websites
This provides a list of publications and links to websites that may be useful in planning and delivering services. This is a general resource for the social housing sector rather than as a ‘must read’ list. It covers a range of topics and issues, not all of which will be relevant to all social landlords. We have tried to identify publications and websites that provide useful, up to date material with a practical focus. Inclusion of specific publications and websites does not represent an endorsement of their content by the Scottish Housing Regulator.
Performance & Contextual Information
This provides a summary of performance and contextual information relevant to each Performance Standard and collected nationally by the Scottish Government and other public agencies. It also includes links to other relevant websites and key publications.
