Regulation Plans
This section contains information about our regulation plans, which are based on our assessments of registered social landlords (RSLs). You will find a fuller explanation of our approach in our Guide to How We Regulate.
Each RSL falls into one of four broad categories of engagement: high, medium, low, and standard. We have developed a regulation plan for each RSL that we need to have a high or medium level of engagement with. Each plan explains the RSL’s regulatory profile and sets out how we will engage with that organisation.
We are engaging with a number of other RSLs to gain an understanding or give us assurance about a particular part of their business but we do not view it as significant enough to warrant publishing a regulation plan and have categorised these as low engagement. We will have a standard level of engagement with the remaining RSLs, which means we will receive the standard returns including their audited accounts, annual performance and statistical returns (APSR) and five year financial projections. RSLs falling into both of these categories are included in our risk assessment.
We consider a broad range of information that RSLs provide to us to determine what type of engagement we need to have. Unless circumstances change materially, this is the basis for our engagement with these RSLs until we carry out our next full regulatory assessment.
You can see links to these plans listed in alphabetical order here.
Any RSL not listed is in the low or standard engagement category. Please note that local Abbeyfield Societies, management only organisations, and co-ownership societies were not included in the assessment this year.
