LANGSTANE HOUSING ASSOCIATION RE-INSPECTION REPORT
Langstane Housing Association has been awarded a ‘fair’ rating for its overall performance.
This follows a re-inspection by inspectors from Communities Scotland, now the Scottish Housing Regulator.
After an inspection in 2005, the association was awarded a ‘D’ grade for housing management.
A re-inspection was undertaken in January 2008 to assess its progress against the improvement plan it put in place after the original inspection. The inspectors found that the association had achieved a number of improvements.
Michael Cameron, acting head of inspection at the Scottish Housing Regulator, said:
“We welcome the improvement achieved by the association over the last three years. Our inspectors found that Langstane Housing Association understands many of its strengths and weaknesses, and is committed to improving services for tenants.
“It has demonstrated strengths in a number of areas, particularly allocating its properties to people in housing need, providing support to vulnerable tenants and issuing good quality information to new tenants.
“The association is aware that it needs to improve its management and monitoring of rent arrears and the time it takes to re-let its properties.
