About us
We regulate all of Scotland's social housing.
Our overall purpose is to regulate to:
• protect the interests of current and future tenants, and other service users;
• ensure the continuing provision of good quality social housing in terms of decent homes, good services, value for money and financial viability; and
• maintain the confidence of funders.
Using this site
You can find information about our role and purpose as the regulator of social housing in Scotland and how we are set up in Who We Are.
There’s information about our regulatory work including, collecting information, granting consents, inspecting, intervening and assessing risk under What We Do. This section also includes access to information held on our register of social landlords.
If you want to see the standards, policies and guidance we set for social landlords you’ll find them under How We Work.
Publications & Reports includes statistical reports, inspection reports, thematic studies and news.
Under Your Interests you’ll find direct links to all parts of the site that you might find useful as a landlord, a service-user, a lender or another regulator. This is also where you will find all the self-assessment material for landlords to use and which others might also find useful.
Some parts of this site are still under construction and will be available shortly. We appreciate your patience. In the meantime, the Communities Scotland website is still available.
