Governance and accountability
We are an executive agency of the Scottish Government. We exercise independently the regulatory powers of Scottish Ministers in the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001.
Our Acting Chief Executive, Michael Cameron is directly accountable to Scottish Ministers for the agency’s work and the proper and effective use of resources. We publish what we plan to do in the future in our corporate plan. Every year we publish our annual report and accounts and lay it before the Scottish Parliament. Scottish Ministers are accountable to the Scottish Parliament for the functions of the Scottish Housing Regulator.
