REGULATION PLANS 2009
We have now carried out our annual regulatory assessment for all mainstream RSLs.
As part of this, we have reviewed all of the high and medium engagement Regulation Plans that we published in 2008 and amended or removed these as required. And we have produced new Regulation Plans for any other RSLs that we have categorised as high or medium engagement.
We have issued regulation plans this year for 55 RSLs (4 high, 47 medium ,and 4 where we have still to determine our overall engagement level) We will have a low level of engagement with the remaining RSLs.
In recognition of the less benign financial climate that RSLs now have to operate in, we have strengthened our approach to financial scrutiny this year and so have asked a number of RSLs for additional assurance about finances.
We have re-categorised a number of RSLs from high to medium or medium to low in recognition of the assurances that we have received from these organisations in the last 12 months.
