Scottish Housing Quality Standard
Scottish Ministers set 2015 as the target date for local authorities and registered social landlords (RSLs) to achieve the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS). Landlords submitted their Standard Delivery Plans (SDPs) in 2005 to demonstrate how they were going to meet the Standard. And we have been monitoring progress since then through annual returns. You can access our annual progress reports based on these returns here:
Progress Report (May 2009)
Progress Report (March 2008)
Progress Report (January 2007)
We have asked landlords to submit a comprehensive SHQS information update to us in 2011 with a more limited return this year. You can access our letter to landlords about this here:
Letter to Local Authorities, Feb 10
The 2010 and 2011 forms will be emailed to landlords, but you can also view them here:

Further clarification on the Standard, including guidance on exemptions, is expected from the Scottish Government this summer. We will direct you to this information when it is available.
Until then, you can refer to the above guidance and the following original SDP guidance documents issued in 2004:
